Live The Language

a fresh view of barcelona
Video by Niklas Johansson & Albin Holmqvist

Fast Company’s Co.Design brings us a series of nostalgia-inducing videos (commissioned by international language school, EF) in which awesome typography is superimposed on sunny, playful footage of unquestionably attractive youths as they arrive in foreign cities. Cinematographer Niklas Johansson and Barcelona-based designer and art director Albin Holmqvist collaborated on this re-invention of the flashcard, and we give them an A+!

We were most moved by Barcelona — they had us at arena en el zapato — but you can also check out Paris, Beijing, and London. While intended as adverts for the school, they are as much adverts for the cities themselves.

If you’re traveling to Barcelona on a student’s budget, you’re in luck. There are several Tablet hotels in Barcelona for under €100/night this spring.
