Tablet Tunes Vol. 21

Music To Travel To
Tablet Tunes Vol.21

Six years ago, when the iTunes Store was but an infant, we launched Tablet Tunes, hidden away on a rarely seen corner of the Tablet website. The idea: you’re comfortable with Tablet advising you on what hotels are worth staying at, so why not let us recommend what music to listen to as well?

In truth it’s meant more in a spirit of sharing. While our hotel selection aims to be definitive, Tablet Tunes is just a place to note the songs that have recently caught our collective ear. It’s now twenty volumes later, and while we’ve been to a lot of new places and listened to a lot of new music, it’s surprising how little has changed.

We’re on to some new voices — Beach House, Lykke Li and James Blake — but we’ve stuck with some old favorites as well, from Radiohead (Volume 10) and TV On the Radio (Volume 4) to Kanye West, who made a guest appearance on a track from our very first playlist. Here’s a preview of Volume 21:

“Will Do” – TV On The Radio
“Try to Sleep” – Low
“Norway” – Beach House
“The Wilhelm Scream” – James Blake
“Youth Knows No Pain” – Lykke Li
“Lost In The World” – Kanye West
“Revival” – Deerhunter
“Lotus Flower” – Radiohead
“Runway, Houses, City, Clouds” – Tame Impala
“Rolling In the Deep” – Adele

Great discovery! We’re opening Batu Batu, our little island resort next year and I was just starting to think about what to load our iPods with. This is great – I look forward to going back through the other 20 volumes for more ideas.

Unfortunately I do not have an I Pod, is it possible to purchase/order some of these “tunes” in CD format?
