Don’t Sweat It

Six Scenic Places to Cool Off

For such a small body of water, the hotel pool exerts a pull that’s near impossible to resist. Any why should you? The season’s rising temperatures are all the more reason to put those cool, alluring pools to serious use, and do so in style. We present a few of of our favorite hotel pools, and some accessories to match.

Where: Costa Careyes in Careyes, Mexico
Book the Castle villa at Costa Careyes and you’ll find it’s worthy of the name — perched on a rock above the sea, it’s surrounded on three sides by a pool with a panoramic ocean view.
Wear: A striped tote from Julia Leach’s Chance and a hot, turquoise monokini from Sirene Collection.

Where:Palais De La Méditerranée in Nice, France
The Palais is back, and if there’s one spot that recalls its origin in the glamorous Roaring Twenties, it’s the massive colonnaded pool deck, on the third floor overlooking the Promenade des Anglais.
Wear: Onia Calder swim trunks, paired with Yves Saint Laurent acetate sunglasses

Where: Hotel Habita Monterrey in San Pedro Garza García, Mexico
The hotel itself is a sight to see, but there’s no better spot from which to survey the mountains and city lights of Monterrey than the infinity-edge pool on the rooftop of the Hotel Habita.
Wear: A Philip Lim kaftan over a marbled one-piece from Seventh Wonder.

Where: Blancaneaux Lodge in San Ignacio, Belize
There’s a pool on site for keeping cool with a cocktail by your side, but for hardier souls, a series of natural pools follows Privassion Creek up towards the majestic Big Rock Falls.
Wear: Classic Polo swim trunks with canvas espadrille loafers from Castañer

Where: Villa D’este in Lake Como, Italy
There’s no place quite like Villa d’Este, and there’s no pool quite like its pool, floating on a dock in the waters of Lake Como, and frequented by one of Europe’s most glamorous crowds.
Wear: A Eugenia Kim straw fedora and Melissa Odabash’s twisted bikini

Where: The Berkeley in London, England
It’s an all too familiar trend in New York and Los Angeles, but in London, the concept of a rooftop pool still feels fresh. The Berkeley’s is known as a retreat, more than a hot-spot, which means no advance reservations are needed for a lounger.
Wear: A ruffled strapless one-piece from Zimmerman and Oliver Peoples D-frame sunglasses
