Six years ago, when the iTunes Store was but an infant, we launched Tablet Tunes, hidden away on a rarely seen corner of the Tablet website. The idea: you’re comfortable with Tablet advising you on what hotels are worth staying at, so why not let us recommend what music to listen to as well?

Join us as we work our way backwards through the Tablet Tunes catalog. Volume 20 wasn’t all that long ago, but it’s already safe to say the first track, by Daft Punk, is aging much more gracefully than the Tron remake. Other highlights include Sigur Ròs frontman Jónsi collaborating with the New York composer/arranger Nico Muhly, a bit of female-fronted psych-weirdness from Warpaint, and Arcade Fire making a 9/4 time signature sound like the most natural thing in the world:
“Derezzed” – Daft Punk
“Not In Love” – Crystal Castles
“Go Do” – Jónsi
“The Ghost Who Walks” – Karen Elson
“Beetles” – Warpaint
“Groove Me” – Maximum Balloon
“Modern Man” – Arcade Fire
“Stop Talking” – Memory Tapes
“Yellow Brick Road” – Angus & Julia Stone
“Always Malaise (The Man I Am)” – Interpol
