Have you seen a tall and tanned Brit on TV lately? Long brunette locks and a mile-wide grin? She’s Louise Roe — fashion journalist, television presenter and the host of the new makeover show “Plain Jane.”

Between filming in the States and around Europe, not to mention her plentiful fashion world obligations, Louise spends many nights on the road. Yes, it’s a glamorous life, but after so much time away from home, who of us in a similar position would not be swollen with self-pity? Louise, on the other hand, is an upbeat travel warrior. She’s gracious about the opportunities that she’s be given and she pays it forward by sharing travel and style wisdom with her fans — of which, if her Twitter following is any indication, there are many.
On the topic of her favorite hotels, here’s what Louise has to say:
60 Thompson
New York, New York
“If I can, I always stay here when I visit New York. Nestled into Soho’s cosy but buzzy neighbourhood, 60 Thompson is a chic boutique hotel that isn’t arrogant, unlike some other top hotels in downtown Manhattan. The staff remember your name and a fresh-baked brownie awaits you on your bed every night. Sold!”
The Redbury
Los Angeles, California
“Pretty new to Hollywood, the Redbury has huge rooms with avant-garde art and furniture. Plus their Moroccan restaurant, Cleo, is one of LA’s hippest hangouts right now.”
Casa Morada
Islamorada, Florida
“Probably one of my favourite hotels in the world. It’s paradise stepping out of your suite (this hotel is all suites — bliss!) to sip a homemade sake cocktail in a hammock overlooking the ocean. Very romantic.”
Marquesa
Key West, Florida
“Slap-bang in the middle of Key West, you step back in time in this quaint, friendly house that serves award-winning food in its restaurant, Cafe Marquesa. Lovely staff, beachy decor and so much to see and do from its doorstep.”
